Hannah’s classes combine mindfulness, breathing exploration, asana and moving meditation in a fun and explorative way, building strength and postural awareness for everyday life and drawing influence from her experience in many areas including belly dance, tai chi and Hanna Somatics.
Hannah (she/her) was lucky enough to discover yoga over twenty years ago and has been teaching since 2013. After completing her yoga teacher training with Lianne Metcalf at SomaChi Yoga, Hannah has gone on to explore yoga with some wonderful teachers including Donna Farhi, Anahata Giri, Lisa Petersen, Dianne Bondy, Amber Karnes, Simon Borg-Olivier and Jo Buick.
She is a member of the Yoga and Body Image Coalition and has qualifications in teaching prenatal yoga and yoga for children, teenagers and family groups.
Hannah comes very highly recommended and has taught at many studios across Melbourne, including Harvest Yoga’s ‘sister’ studios – OneHeart Yoga and Reconnect Yoga – as well as SomaChi Yoga, Yoga Dance Moves and others.
She was the senior teacher of Fat Yoga classes (later Body Positive Yoga Australia) with Sarah Harry (who is sadly no longer with us), and she now runs Body Positive Yoga Melbourne.
Blending different styles of movement in an engaging and joyful way while encouraging mindfulness and injury-prevention, Hannah firmly believes that yoga should be accessible and fun for all people and she encourages students to develop a yoga practice that suits their unique needs.
